Needham is found on rocky uplands in Norfolk County and is bordered by Wellesley, West Roxbury, Newton, Dedham, Dover and Westwood. Just 10 miles south west of the city of Boston, Needham, which was incorporated in 1711. Commuters may find Needham to be an ideal community to call home, due to its close proximity to Boston. The town is also within a loop of the Charles River on the Southern and Northeastern boundaries and has a total area of 12.6 square miles. Residents has easy access to major roadways such as the I-95/Route 128 circumferential highway with three exits in the town, and the Massachusetts Route 135 that goes through Needham. The MBTA also offers a Commuter Rail option for transportation with four stops in Needham on the Needham Line take individuals into Boston’s South Station. Five middle schools, three private schools and a high school all reside within Needham. Furthermore, it must be noted that this high school underwent a $62 Million renovation in 2009 and today is an educational institution that is more than a pleasure to attend.
The Needham real estate market is primarily made up of single family homes, many of which are million dollar plus, but many affordable options also exist. There is also a small condominium market.
